Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV) is an academic and public-welfare social incorporated association voluntarily organized by the scientists and technologists, who are dedicated to education and researching in the field of animal production sectors and veterinary medicine. CAAV is a nationwide, non-profit organization, registered in the ministry of Civil Affairs. As part of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, CAAV also keeps very close working relationship with Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of science and technology etc.
CAAV was established in 1936, as one of the oldest academic organization, there were 38 branches and more than 60,000 members nowadays, which covered the subjects as: animal genetic breeding, nutrition, veterinary and medicine, environment protection, Chinese veterinary and medicine etc.

Yangzhou University

Yangzhou University (YZU) is co-sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Education of China. It is a key comprehensive university of Jiangsu Province. The university is first established in 1902, when its predecessors, Tongzhou Private Normal School and Tonghai Agricultural School were established.

The education in YZU features as a rich legacy in humanities, advantages in agricultural sciences, integration of sciences and humanities, and a harmonious development of each major discipline. Currently there are over 29,000 undergraduate students and 15,000 postgraduate students, and over 2,500 overseas students. The teaching and research stuff is approximately 2,300 including two of the Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. YZU has 28 colleges, which provides 121 undergraduate programs of 12 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management science and art. YZU has 3 national key disciplines, 22 first-level doctoral programs, and 47 first-level master’s programs. YZU’s overall competence as well as 7 disciplines, namely chemistry, plant and animal sciences, engineering, agricultural sciences, clinical medicine, material science and computer science. YZU has over 50 research platforms of ministerial or provincial level to support the teaching activities and scientific and set up close international cooperation and exchange relationships with more than 250 higher education institutions and research institutions in over 50 countries and regions.


China Agriculture University

China Agricultural University (CAU) is one of the top ranked key national universities in China. CAU has 3 campuses, including the East Campus, West Campus and Jianshe Campus. Students have free choices to enrol in more than 60 Undergraduate Specialties, around 140 Masters Programs and more than 80 Doctoral Programs if qualified. The trend of student population continues to rise with more than 70,000 students in total currently enrolled. China Agricultural University is authorized to award academic degrees at BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. The Undergraduate Program is organized within one of the 13 colleges, and master’s and Doctoral Programs are conducted under the direction of the Graduate School, which is the first graduate school of this kind among all agricultural universities in China. The educational programs cover a broad spectrum in both natural and social sciences, across the fields of food and agriculture, livestock, soil and water, engineering, economics, environment and energy, management, science, literature, and law. Developing itself into an internationalized institution, CAU considers international exchange and cooperation to be a significant component of its mission. CAU has well established collaborations via 296 counter-signed Memorandum of Understanding or Agreements with 178 universities from 35 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, & Oceania. Exchange of students with partner universities has become a routine of work. In addition, cooperation with UN specialized organizations and international institutions have been developed. A worldwide network for academic exchange & collaboration is under cultivation.

Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention

Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (briefly as China CDC) is a governmental and national-level technical organization specialized on disease control and prevention and public health. Its mission is to create a safe and healthy environment, maintain social stability, ensure national security, and promote the health of people through prevention and control of disease, injury, and disability. Devoted itself to disease control and prevention, it sticks to relying on scientific research and values talent as fundamental element.

Under the leadership of National Health Commission, China CDC exerts its function in technical guidance and support of public health. Focusing on the key tasks of national disease prevention and control, China CDC studies on the strategies and measures for disease prevention and control, organizing and implementing the work plan for various kinds of disease prevention and control. It takes care of management of public health services, including food safety, occupational safety, health related product safety, radiological health, environmental health, as well as women and children’s health. China CDC forcefully carries out operational researches, and enhances technical instruction, training and quality controls in national disease prevention and control, as well as in public health service and plays the leading role nationwide in disease prevention and control, health emergency response and capacity building of public health information. By the end of 2016, China CDC has 2120 staff with 1876 technical professionals (accounting for 89%), 133 managerial staff (accounting for 6%), and 111 logistic staff (accounting for 5%).

From 2002 to 2016, China CDC has sponsored or co-organized over 10 international academic conferences or workshops annually and more than 100 collaborative projects with international partners every year.  Through a full range of international exchange and cooperation, China CDC introduced the state-of-art technologies, new concepts and advanced managerial experience from abroad; promoted scientific research and technological innovation, pushing forward the implementation of disease control strategies; improved its technical capacities in responding to diverse public health issues and important events; supported global health initiatives and actively engaged in China's foreign aid efforts for health; and further enhanced its core competence and international influence.
